A discharge set of codes must include one Primary ICD10 diagnostic code, and one Primary CPT Procedure code on patients requiring procedures and all relevant secondary codes. Communicate to the funder if the admission code has altered and an altered diagnosis or procedure is affecting the LOC/LOS. Assign discharge codes at the time of discharge and send on a final update to the funder. 4.Billing Management Must have an understanding of the BHF FFS (Board of Health care Funders Fee for Service) interpretation. Must have an understanding of the current hospital tariffs for the different types of patients currently in use. Maternity module is based on a fixed fee model for billing. A procedure, which is identified by CPT procedure codes, will drive this billing> The Case Manager must manage these cases daily. The case manager's responsibility is to inform their immediate supervisor of any deviation from the fixed fee contract. Introduction PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION : Accountable to the Financial Manager for the efficient and effective delivery of quality care to patients being admitted to the Hospital. Communication regarding the treatment of the patient is timeously communicated to the funder and the patient. An accurate and complete account is provided to the funder and the patient. Provide our customers with quality medical care, experience a new face of care, clinical excellence and eventually allowing for optimal patient comfort. Ensure processes are in line the working procedures and policies of the Hospital. Specification 1.Inpatient Management Ensure that all inpatients are admitted on the Hospital patient management system. Draw up a daily admission report. Conduct daily ward rounds Apply the corrected or updated discharge ICD 10 code to all discharged accounts. Discuss all patients with extended LOS (Length of stay) with the treating doctor or specialist. Provide letters of motivation (LOM) when requested by the funder. Provide accurate clinical information, timeously requesting extensions of stay or rand amount and obtaining authorizations from the funder. Re-authorize the patient's case with the funder where there is a change on the LOC (level of care), change in both CPT and ICD10 and the use of high value items. This re-authorization must be done in writing within 8 working hours or the next working day. Assist treating doctors with arranging all transfers to other medical facilities. Liaise with nursing regarding discharged patients that cannot go home due to financial or logistical challenges. Involve the social worker in arranging logistics.•Accurate clinical statistics Accurate data on disease profiles for the area.
