Introduction The University of Namibia is inviting suitably qualified candidates to apply for a vacant Senior Lecturer position in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, School of Medicine within Faculty of Health Sciences, Hage Geingob Campus. Specification Conduct lectures with clinical medical students in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. The successful candidate is expected to moderate seminars/tutorials to clinical students in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, prepare and administer post-seminar tests to medical students, conduct bedside teaching to clinical medical students, teach and demonstrate procedures to clinical medical students in clinics, wards and operating theatres, carry out research, supervise students research projects, evaluate and assess clinical medical students, assess students performance including continuous assessments and tests, monitor of students attendance and signing of logbooks, evaluate and asses students assignments, prepare/set examination for clinical students both written and clinical, participate in internal moderation of draft examination question papers, invigilation of examinations and perform any other duties as may be required. Requirements A Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree (MBChB) plus a Master of Medicine degree in Obstetrics and Gynaecology; registered or registerable with the Health Professions Council of Namibia (HPCNA). Demonstrated at least five (5) years of post qualification clinical practice as a Specialist, four (4) years of teaching/lecturing experience at university level, and at least three (3) publications in refereed journals.
